Miscanthus harvest at the GRACE field site at Oberer Lindenhof, Southern Germany.

Late spring is harvest season for miscanthus. The GRACE field trial location at Oberer Lindenhof in Southern Germany was harvested by direct chipping and is used as bedding material and for heating. Additionally, the Metitron 560, a novel mobile pellet press, was supporting the harvest and testing miscanthus to directly produce pellets on the field. The pellets have a 6 times higher density than chipped miscanthus and can be again used as bedding material, for heating or any other application.
