Kick off meeting of GRACE Demonstration case 1 was held on April 16th 2019 in Straubing, Germany. Representatives from Novamont, INA and UHOH visited CLARIANT′s bioethanol pre-commercial plant to discuss preliminary results of Miscanthus biomass processing. About 30 tonnes of Miscanthus biomass was harvested and baled at INA demonstration site in Croatia in February 2019, and shipped to CLARIANT′s bioethanol pre-commercial plant for processing. Biomass testing is still ongoing, but preliminary results show that Clariant was able to prove that the Sunliquid® process is able to successfully process miscanthus biomass on pre-commercial scale. Final report on testing will be ready by end of June 2019.
